London is home to many famous things like the afternoon tea, the Queen, Oliver Twist, the double decker buses and many others. From the kindergarten song that we used to belt out so heartily about “London is burning”, this city has never ceased to mesmerize. It is very intriguing.
London is a home of thousands of statues. There, the different statues are regarded as the most famous. Eros is a statue located in the centre of Piccadilly Circus. It represents an angel of Christian charity aiming an arrow down.
Another famous statue in London is the Queen Victoria Memorial Statue. It stands opposite the Buckingham palace found at the end of the mall. It is for the commemoration of the England’s longest reigning monarch’s death.  It has a figure that represents constancy, motherhood, peace and the truth.
At the Great Western Railway there is a statue that commemorates the GWR employees who participated and fought in World War 1. It’s of a man with a homemade scarf wrapped around the neck reading a letter probably from home.
The Peter Pan is a bronze statue found in the Kensington Gardens. It is a statue of a boy ‘who would not grow up’. Peter Pan has a story and appears in a novel.  A famous statue is found in the outside of Westminster Hall. It is a statue that shows Oliver Cromwell holding a bible and a sword. This man was one among the controversial figures in the history of the British.
The Bronze statue of Horatio Nelson stands in the Bull Ring, Birmingham, England. Nelson wears a uniform. One arm resting on an anchor holding the prow of a miniature ship. Another very famous statue in London is the angel of north. Near the St. James’s park there is the famous statue of Queen Anne’s Gate. It is believed to be overseeing the street of London.  Queen Anne was the last of the Stuart monarchs.
