PROFESsee is my title. I am the perpetual learner, in pursuit of knowledge, wisdom and truth. I derived my name from professor
If you are like me, the first thing you will be doing will be to look up Sicily, then Corsica. Somehow, God knows how, I just cannot tell the difference between the two. Perhaps, Corsica sounds Italian, no? One thing that comes to mind whenever this noun, Corsica, is heard is that it was the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte.

However, as a tourist attraction, there is more to it than being the home of this great soldier, politician and emperor who led the people of France in an epic battle, first in their minds and then against their enemies on the ground and in the sea.

When Napoleon was growing up, he says that Corsica was washed with the blood of his countrymen, thanks to the invading French. It was there that he learned to hate France, the country that he would eventually rule. However, little did he know that two centuries later, it would be one of the most sought after tourist destinations in the world.

Someone help me, is Corsica near that smallish but ridiculously rich country called Monaco, a tax haven for the ridiculously rich people? If I get some clarification on that, I will definitely be able to tell the difference between Corsica and Sicily.

Corsica forms one of the 27 regions of France. Corsica is a good travel destination for anyone looking forward to having a good time. There is a sense of tradition and culture and that is why many people find it such a fascinating place. The place is also good for hikers and divers too. Corsica is known as the island of beauty for a good reason. It not only has diverse scenery, but it is less affected by development. This makes it one of the best-preserved natural places in the Mediterranean Sea.

Corsica is especially a popular place for visitors during the summer months. In fact, during some summer months the number of tourists in Corsica increases significantly. Therefore, if one is thinking of visiting Corsica during this period especially in July and August, they need to make sure that they book ahead. This is because it is at this time that the hotels and car rental agencies are likely to be very busy.

The official language spoken in Corsica is French. However, Corsican is the native language spoken there with more than 50% of the population using it. Italian is also spoken in areas that are popular with tourists.
